The Italian city of Rimini has hosted the 26th annual Ecomondo trade fair, one of the world’s leading events focusing on the circular economy. This year, we shared a stand with the Business and Investment Development Agency CzechInvest and followed up on last year’s collaboration with the INCIEN (Institute of Circular Economy), where we also took advantage of the occasion to make a joint presentation. This opened up new opportunities for cooperation and also kept us up with the latest trends driving the world of the circular economy.

A hundred and fifty thousand square metres and more than fifteen hundred exhibiting brands. That was the Ecomondo fair, held from 7 to 10 November 2023. This year’s event presented two main sectors, one of which was waste recycling, while the other was mainly concerned with water. We had plenty to say on both these key topics and managed to discuss some promising forms of cooperation.

The main reason we went to Ecomondo was the chance to meet our partners in the biomethane and water sectors. At the trade fair we had several important meetings, both with new potential partners as well as with our existing subcontractors and partners, such as agriKomp, DMT Environmental Technology, compressor manufacturers and others, with whom we took the opportunity to strengthen our business ties,” says HUTIRA Marketing Director and Executive Director of HUTIRA green gas Monika Zitterbartová.

At this year’s presentation we again collaborated with the INCIEN Institute of Circular Economy, which promotes sustainable principles in the use of natural resources. Our collaboration was highly positive. This year we focused primarily on biomethane, which we see as an energy source with considerable potential for the future,” claims Zitterbartová.

Besides the beautiful weather we enjoyed this year at the Rimini seaside resort, we also greatly appreciated our excellent collaboration with the Business and Investment Development Agency CzechInvest. “During our joint exhibition this year, CzechInvest once again provided good company and quality facilities. We observed some new trends, and at our meetings we discussed in person both current contracts and those awaiting us in the year to come. On the way back, we took the opportunity to call in at the nearby Adicomp compressor factory, where we were able to see a compressor being made to order for us. The compressor will form part of the injection unit for the biomethane production project we plan to deliver to our customer early next year,” says HUTIRA green gas Executive Director Monika Zitterbartová.

This year’s fair was an exceptional one in several respects. It was the first time ever that Ecomondo took up the whole of the exhibition centre in the city of Rimini. The 26th annual international circular economy trade fair attracted fifteen percent more visitors than in 2022, and the number of digital participants and media coverage of the event also increased. All this goes to confirm that global interest in a sustainable economy is on the rise.
