In the Czech Republic, projects to purify biogas into biomethane are starting to emerge. In the future, they will also begin to appear near larger cities
While in the Czech Republic biogas is used in most cases for the production of electricity and heat, many Western European countries purify it in large quantities to the quality of natural gas, so-called biomethane. The first projects of this type are also appearing in the Czech Republic, allowing biomethane to be pumped into the gas system or used in another way, for example as fuel for transport. This is also why, according to experts, biomethane stations in the country will be located near large cities in the coming years. The development of biomethane production is also supported by the European Union, which sees it as a local sustainable source of energy. The Czech Republic is gradually preparing for a greater expansion of this technology by setting more favorable technical and economic conditions for its producers.
