Biogas purification projects to biomethane are also starting to emerge in the Czech Republic. In the future, they will appear near larger cities
While in the Czech Republic, biogas is used in most cases for the production of electricity and heat, many countries in Western Europe use it in large quantities to improve the quality of natural gas, so-called biomethane. The first projects of this type are also appearing in the Czech Republic, where biomethane will be injected into the gas system or used in another way, for example as fuel for transport. This is also why, according to experts, biomethane stations in the country will be located near large cities in the coming years. The development of biomethane production is also supported by the European Union, which sees it as a local sustainable source of energy. The Czechia is gradually preparing for a greater expansion of this technology and for setting more favorable technical and economic conditions for its manufacturers.
