Bacterial water pollution affects surface sources to a greater extent. It is most likely in the summer
Among other things, bacteria and other microorganisms are a common part of surface and groundwater. Many of them are natural, but unwanted microorganisms can also enter the aquatic environment. In order for a person to consume water without problems, it must go through a treatment process that removes all harmful substances from raw water. Unwanted bacteria are most common in surface water sources in the Czech Republic, especially in the summer months. Groundwater is then often contaminated by any polluted sewage or cattle grazing.
