Custom underground module for the city centre of Plzeň
Our company is a long-established supplier of underground modules in the Czech Republic and abroad. In addition to standard solutions from the ME 3, ME 4 and ME 5 series, we also provide customised designs tailored precisely to customer requirements.
In February, we delivered one such customised modular solution. GasNet was reconstructing an original pressure regulating station (PRS) located directly in the centre of Plzeň, in Křižíkovy sady. The construction works were carried out by Streicher. The original underground Krysalis – type station, which is no longer manufactured and for which spare parts are no longer available, had to be completely replaced. As a successor solution, a HUTIRA underground module was selected and custom-designed for this specific application:
Basic parameters:
- Inlet pipeline: DN 80
- Inlet pressure: 90 kPa
- Outlet pipeline: DN 100
- Outlet pressure: 2.2 kPa
- Capacity: 550 m³/h
- Number of operating lines: 1
This module is structurally based on the standard ME 3 type, which in this case was enlarged and supplemented with provisions for installing inlet and outlet pressure sensors. The modifications also included an end-position sensor for the safety shut-off valve.
Such adaptations make it possible to use our underground modules as a full replacement for ageing pressure regulating stations. Their operators will increasingly face the need for modernisation, and customised modular solutions represent a practical and cost-effective way to replace these stations.
