Biomethane from Krakořice
In the village of Krakořice in the Šternberk/Olomouc region, the agricultural company Paseka is actively utilizing modern technology for agricultural waste processing. Thanks to the facility, an important part of which includes solutions supplied by HUTIRA, manure and other organic material are given a new, ecologically beneficial form – biomethane, a gas corresponding to the quality of natural gas.
The plant in Krakořice is the 11th biomethane production facility in the Czech Republic. HUTIRA is thus involved in the 7th project, either in the form of a complete supply or a part of the technology.
The project was established in cooperation with the company agriKomp Bohemia. Biomethane plants represent a significant contribution to environmental protection, sustainable agriculture, and energy self-sufficiency. Biomethane is an equivalent substitute for natural gas, which contributes to reducing greenhouse gas production and can, among other things, mean an economic benefit for farmers.

The technology in Krakořice is focused on processing agricultural waste, particularly cattle slurry and manure, feeding residues, silage covers, and sugar beet pulp. Thanks to this technology, waste ceases to be waste and becomes an energy source. In addition to the ecological benefit – a significant reduction in greenhouse gas emissions – the project also brings stability to farmers. It allows them to valorize what would otherwise end up as a cost.
HUTIRA supplied and installed a container for this project designed for measuring, analyzing, and injecting biomethane into the high-pressure gas pipeline of GasNet, which is a major gas distributor. This technology is crucial for ensuring the appropriate quality and parameters of the produced biomethane in accordance with valid legislation and the requirements of distribution companies, thus enabling its reliable and safe delivery into the gas grid.
The delivery included a containerized solution for the unit ensuring:
- biomethane analysis with an EMERSON process gas chromatograph
- biomethane injection into the high-pressure gas pipeline
- commercial metering and reporting including data archiving
The project not only has an ecological benefit, but also shows the path that Czech agriculture can take in the context of the modern economy, and especially energy, in connection with climate challenges. Biomethane is not only a source of clean energy, but is also an important part of the energy strategy for the future.
